"Great stick with a good sized pocket"
I have just recently purchased this stick and already love it. I played with the deBeer Myssy for a season, and decided to upgrade to a deeper pocket. The head has very open side walls, and somewhat narrow throat and is a medium weight.I noticed right away that I had better ball control due to the deeper pocket. Basically, the pocket and a lot of the head sits below the shaft when held horizontally. This means that when the stick is held upright to cradle the ball can sit deeper in the pocket, and still be legal. The head is angled so that you have to pick up ground balls "properly" in order to get them. (by properly, I mean putting your knuckles down and scooping through the ball) I had my head strung with the newer Trigger pocket from deBeer. The pocket looks a lot like a traditional pocket, but is entirely synthetic. This pocket conforms to the ball well and holds it much better than the Trakker pocket. (I have yet to try the Pro-Trakker from deBeer) This pocket doesn't have shooting strings, but you could always put those in. The description of the pocket says that it has 5 runners, but the two on each side are very thin and barely noticeable. It basically has three runners. Although I would recommend this head, If you are happy with your current head shape and stiffness but want better ball control, I would recommend trying a different pocket before getting a new head. |

"Its Pretty Good."
I really like this stick. It is by far one of the best. As a defensive player it is great for long-distant throwing to get it down the field. The only problem I had is when I play offense, I have trouble scooping fast because it bends if pushed against the ground too hard. But other than that I saw an improvement in my passing, catching, and shooting. |

"Awesome!"
An excellent stick, makes learning how to cradle, catch, and throw much easier. This is a great beginner's stick, and is even used by some of the worlds top players! I LOVE it and I highly recommend it to every other girl lacrosse player! |

"Great Until It Broke"
I got this stick 2 years ago, but only played with it for one season. It was amazing for catching and ball handling. It helped my game a lot. Unfortunatly it broke in 4 places while I was playing. It might have been because it was cold, but we were indoors and another girl on my team with an Apex also had her stick break the same day. |

"Good Stick"
I bought this stick because many of my teammates had it, so I thought that it would be a good fit for me as well. Also, many college players play with it, so it seemed like a natural choice. However, this stick has not worked out for me very well. My main problem was with the trakker pocket. I found that it was incredibly rigid (so it doesn't stretch and become illegal). Consequently, my shot speed became much slower. The head is super rigid, which is great for checks in defense and midfield, but it causes annoying ball rattle for me on offense. Also, the stiff upper lip makes ground balls more difficult than other sticks in a similar price range. I still think that this stick is a decent stick. My main advice after buying and using it, is try sticks out before you buy them. This stick works for many, but not for me. |

"Loved it!"
I liked this stick alot! I began with it about four years ago. That's the only stick I've gotten. I got two Apex's and I love it. I'm a center and it's the perfect shape for the face-off. Also it makes it so much easier to cradle, pass, and catch. Ground balls are really easy also. It picks them up great. Though it isn't as strong as most other heads. I noticed it bends sometimes when I go for ground balls. |

"Apex really helped me "
I have had the Apex for over a year now and have only been playing lacrosse for about 2 years. It took a while to get used to ground balls, but now I can run through and usually take the ball without any trouble whatsoever, it hooks right in. Cradling is just easy with the Apex - I can't believe it! I can go back to other sticks and still take the ball much better than I did before having the Apex, but the Apex really tucks it in nicely and keeps it there. For accuracy shooting, the Apex has given me heaps of confidence. I only started scoring since having the Apex. Hard and direct shots. I also find the deBeer plastic is less rigid / not as stiff as the STX brand. Much less likely to break and you can just tell its good quality material. Combined with the Triax 6000 shaft, I highly recommend this stick. It's approved for all levels in Australia too, so no wasting money on a stick that you can't use as you try progress to state league, etc. Good choice. |

"It's pretty good..."
I like the Apex well enough. Over half the girls on my team have one. It's the best stick I've tried for catching, but having always used STX, I couldn't really get used to the way it throws and cradles. I also had trouble with ground balls. The STX Surge is a lot better in everything except catching. |
