deBeer Wizard

Description: Not just a pretty face, the new look is not the only thing that is radical about deBeer's Wizard. This is the stick that takes offset technology to an entirely new level, from its soft, angled vertical blades to the narrow pocket silhouette and dropped "V" scoop. Features perpendicular, flexible angled blades that cushion incoming balls, an open triple rib throat for increased stiffness and a narrow silhouette.

Sizes: Complete, Strung, Unstrung

"debeer wizard"
After breaking 3 heads in one week(proton, cyber and shockwave) i decided that i would buy a good heavy duty head. The wizard is just that and more. I am a attackman and it is a great head for me. It is not only pinched but extremely offset and durable. It is a little heavy but if you want a head that will last a while, get the wizard.

"A bit disappointed..."
Overall I thought the head was a very good D head. Stiff head makes it great for poke and slap checks. I got the trakker mesh which was a mistake. I have seen some very nice trakker meshes but I tried to work a pocket into mine and i just wouldn't take. I attribute this to my average ball control more than the actual head. I think to get a proper pocket I would've had to completely re-sting the stick. Problem is I didn't have time...which brings me to my next point. I had this head for half a season and the lower left sidewall bar broke. Reading reviews, maybe I just had a bad one but it sure was frustrating since I decided to pay the extra money for the Wizard rather than going for an X2.

"Too hard to keep legal"
This is an overall good head. The drop v scoop is great for ground balls on the run. It's very stiff and is able to deal hard checks as well as take them, its a little bit heavy but that's good for middies or attackmen that shoot a lot. The only bad thing about this head is its close to impossible to keep legal. I started out using it with 6 diamond, i restrung it atleast 3 times and every time the ball got stuck in the back or down in the throat. I thought it might be the large mesh so i strung it with hard mesh and the same thing happened. If you can get it legal then you should definetly buy this head, it can be used for any position.

"Trakker pocket"
This review isn't about the wizard as much as the new "trakker pocket." This pocket is terrible because there is practically no ball control. I know that it looks pretty cool, but stay away from this gimmick that'll be off the market in another 6 months. I tried to put it in an evolution and it was a huge waste of money. I like the idea, and it's really easy to string, but it has zero hold. (by the way, I'm not a fan of monster mesh either.) If you buy the wizard, put in a duramesh pocket or string it with wide traditional: don't pay for the "trakker."

"Pocket"
I liked this head a lot except for the fact if you have a mesh pocket it is very hard to get a nice pocket. I tried a lot but can't get any solution.

"Good "
I read some of these reviews before I bought my Wizard. I don't know what some of these people are talking about, how it's not pinched. It's pinched. This head is great for Defense. It gives an awesome pokecheck. It's super stiff. Put is on a decent shaft and you haev yourself the best "D" stick ever.

"Works Good for Defense"
This works great for defense...the dropped V scoop makes it really easy to scoop them groundballs, the sidewalls are relatively strong... only a little bending on poke checks.

"Exceptional Head"
Simply amazing. I play defense with this, and i couldnt care less about the extra weight. The trakker pocket is awesome with it. It has some of the best ball control ive ever felt, and is deadly accurate. And of course, it is strong and stiff (practically this heads trademark). And I've never been able to scoop like I can with this head (its differance really shows at high speed pick-ups). Recommend for any position, especially Defense.
