"Ideal Stick for a Box Lacrosse Goalie"
This stick is really great for box lacrosse goalies. It takes a while to get used to after having used new plastic sticks, but covers a lot more area. This is a great stick. It is a little bit heavy and does not throw like the plastic sticks but is much better in terms of stopping shots. |

"A Box Goalie's Dream"
Whenever you get wood goalie sticks, you should get them in regards to what hand you hold the stick when in the box stance. The reason for this is that while you are in the box stance, the scoop should be flat on the floor as opposed to having one side of the scoop off the floor. On bounce shots, the ball may bounce under the stick and go between your legs and in the net. Last, but not least, these sticks also come in different sizes in regards to inside width (up to 15") and head length (scoop to back bend from 24" to 31").As well, get this stick with eight leathers rather than seven. The reason is that since a players' stick has four leathers in a traditional pocket, a goalies' stick should have eight (ball rests in the middle four leathers as opposed to the middle three in seven leather pockets).I've used wood goal sticks for nine years and will not ever go to plastic unless I'm trying out for an NLL team. |
